Wire Freezer Baskets For The Country Chest Freezer

Having recently moved from the city to the country, I immediately set about setting up my Homestead just how I wanted it. One of my first purchases was a large deep chest freezer to allow me to store bulk food on-site and eliminate the need for frequent visits to the store.

Now I’ve never owned a deep freezer before so was unfamiliar with some of the requirements for these appliances. I was familiar with the extremely efficient design of these devices, and knew that they were very low user of electricity compared to other freezer models such as upright freezers.

What I did not learn until after making the purchase however, was the most chest freezers come from the manufacturer with an inadequate organizational system in place. The deep freezer that I purchased only had two small baskets intended to organize the cavernous volume of freezer capacity it provided.

I quickly sought that this was definitely insufficient, and that it could by no means stop my freezer from becoming one huge pile of frozen product. I envisioned all my frozen purchases becoming difficult to locate in this huge pile.

To that end I did some research and quickly discovered that most people who purchase a deep freezer also purchase a good set of stackable freezer baskets. By installing a wire freezer baskets set inside the freezer users gain the ability to separate different types of food out into individualized compartments.

This sounded like an optimal solution to me. It seemed like it would take care of my concerns about losing track of where my individual frozen packages were inside this huge frozen compartment.

To that end I purchased a freezer basket set to go inside of my homes chest freezer. I would have to say that this was a very good idea and I’m very pleased with the results.
